Miami Hurricanes OL coach Alex Mirabal top 20 2023 recruiter
Offensive line coach Alex Mirabal has the Miami Hurricanes on the verge of signing one of the best classes at the position in program history in the Class of 2023. Mirabal is the 16th ranked recruiter in the Class of 2023 according to 247 Sports. Mirabal has been responsible for five 2023 Miami commits.
The average score for a 2023 Miami Hurricanes commit recruited by Mirabal is 89.53 with a total of 64.52 points per the 247 Sports ratings. Mirabal is credited with commitments from five-star OT Francis Mauigoa and three-star OL Tommy Kinsler, Connor Lew, Frankie Tinilau and Antonio Tripp. Tinilau is listed as a tackle.
Kinsler, Lew and Tripp are listed as interior OL. Lew and Tripp project as centers with the ability to play guard. Mirabal is also credited with OL Anez Cooper and Matthew McCoy in the Miami 2022 Class. Jonathan Denis who transferred to Miami during the 2022 offseason was originally recruited to Oregon by Mirabal.
Mirabal is regarded as an elite developer of OL. Penei Sewell developed into the seventh pick in the 2021 NFL Draft after playing under Mirabal at Oregon. Mirabal has a chance to help develop left tackle Zion Nelson into a first-round pick from Miami. Nelson will miss the beginning of the 2022 season after July knee surgery.

Mauigoa is the first five-star player credited to Mirabal. Eight four-star prospects are credited with signing with their schools after being recruited by Mirabal. Miami is currently trending for five-star OT Samson Okunlola, Mirabal is leading the recruitment for Okunlola.
An Okunlola commitment would move Mirabal up the recruiter rankings. Moving back home to Miami where Mirabal began his career as a high school coach in the 1990s should provide him with a base to recruit elite players. Tinilau who just moved to Miami is the sole 2023 Hurricanes’ OL commit in South Florida.

Mauigoa and Tripp are playing at IMG Academy in Bradenton this year. Lew is from Kennesaw, Georgia and Kinsler matriculates at Trinity Catholic in Ocala, Fl. Denis is a Homestead, South Dade alum. With Mario Cristobal and Mirabal mentoring the Miami OL expect more development at the position in the future.
