The Miami basketball team released its 2022-23 full non-conference schedule on Thursday. After an exhibition game on October 30, Miami will open the season versus Lafayette of the Patriot League on November 7. The Hurricanes will play 11 non-conference games with eight at home, two at neutral sites and one on the road.

Miami will host North Carolina-Greensboro on November 11 and Florida A&M on November 15  before the Hurricanes travel to Uncasville, Connecticut for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament. Miami will play versus head coach Jim Larranaga’s alma mater, Providence on November 19.

The Friars and Hurricanes will tip off at 4:00 PM. One day later Miami will play either St. Louis University or Maryland in the four-team tournament. A loss to Providence will make the game versus the Billikens or Terrapins at 1 PM. A win versus the Friar will set up a championship game on the 20 at 3:30 PM.

Miami will return home to host St. Francis of Brooklyn on November 23 before traveling to Central Florida on November 27. Rutgers will play at Miami in the ACC-Big 10 Challenge on November 30. Miami will conclude its non-conference schedule with home games versus Cornell, St. Francis of Pennsylvania and Vermont.

Miami will host Cornell on December 7, St. Francis (PA) on December 17 and Vermont on the 28. Only the game times in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tip Tournament have set game times for Miami during the non-conference part of the schedule. The other game times will be announced at a later date.

The Miami basketball team had a close-up look at Providence during the 2022 NCAA Tournament in Chicago during the Midwest Regional. Providence lost to Kansas in the Midwest Regional semifinal the game before Miami defeated Iowa State to advance to its first Elite Eight in program history.

The Hurricanes will likely play one or two ACC games in December. Miami played two ACC games in December last season. In addition to the NCAA appearance by Providence last season, Rutgers earned its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance for the first time since 1976 and only the second time in program history.
