As reported by On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons, four-star 2023 wide receiver Tyler Williams has flipped a weekend visit from Mississippi to the Miami football program. Williams will be at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday to watch Miami open the 2022 season versus Bethune-Cookman.

The visit from Williams this weekend is impressive for the Miami football program. Miami was not named as one of the five finalists for Williams when he released his top schools on July 1. Clemson, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and Texas A&M were named by Williams as his finalists with a September 27 commitment.

Miami is now clearly in the recruitment for Williams. Georgia is the prohibitive favorite to receive a commitment from Williams. Williams is the 129th ranked player, 20th WR and 30th in Florida in the Class of 2023. Miami currently has commitments from 2023 four-star WRs Nathaniel Joseph and Robby Washington.

Joseph is the 117th ranked player in the Class of 2023 and Washington 153rd. Simmons stated that Williams said earlier this summer that his best relationship is with Georgia WRs coach Bryan McClendon who was an assistant under Mario Cristobal at Oregon and for a short period of time during the 2022 offseason, Miami.

Williams took official visits to Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina and Texas A&M in June. Following those four visits, Williams has one official visit remaining. Simmons did not state if the visit by Williams to Miami this weekend is an official one. Miami does not have an official visit scheduled this weekend per 247 Sports.

Four-star cornerback Damari Brown from American Heritage in Fort Lauderdale is scheduled to visit Miami the weekend of September 23 per 247 Sports. Miami is a long shot for Williams after missing out on five-star South Florida WRs Jalen Brown and Brandon Inniss. Miami needs to add at least one more 2023 WR.
