Longtime college football writer Mike Farrell named Miami Hurricanes running back Henry Parrish one of the national transfers of the week on his website The Portal Report. Parrish had a stellar debut for Miami. After two seasons at Mississippi Parrish returned to South Florida where he starred at Christopher Columbus High School.

Parrish led the Miami Hurricanes in carries and rushing yards as the Hurricanes defeated Bethune-Cookman 70-13 on Saturday. The win for Miami was also the coaching debut of head coach Mario Cristobal, another Columbus alum. Parrish paced a Miami rushing attack that totaled 305 yards versus Bethune-Cookman.

Thad Frankin and Parrish had to take the majority of the carries for Miami with three scholarship RBs out. Don Chaney Jr. is expected to be out for a few weeks, Tre’Vonte Citizen is projected to be out for the season and Jaylan Knighton should be healthy for Miami when they host Southern Mississippi on Saturday.

Parrish was named in the top nine transfers of the week by Farrell. Only two ACC players including Parrish and one other RB were named by Farrell. Pittsburgh quarterback Kedon Slovis who transferred from USC and Mississippi RB Zach Evans who replaced Parrish at Missiissppi from TCU were named by Farrell.

"RB Henry Parrish, Miami“Parrish came over from Ole Miss and rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also adding three receptions for 25 yards in his debut.”"

Parrish will likely to continue to be the top Miami RB on Saturday versus Southern Mississippi. The Golden Eagles rank 117th in run defense after allowing 244 yards to Liberty on Saturday. Parrish led Miami with 133 yards from scrimmage and the three TDS on Saturday. Miami is sixth in rushing yards after week one.

Miami has to continue to establish the run. Southern Mississippi will be a step up after the win over FCS Bethune-Cookman. Franklin, Knighton and Parrish provide Miami with three different running styles. Knighton is a more explosive player out of the backfield. The longest run by Parrish on Saturday was 24 yards.
