Miami basketball ACC schedule includes Duke twice

The 2022-23 Miami basketball ACC schedule includes four games in December and home-and-homes versus Duke, Florida State, Louisville, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech. Miami begins the ACC schedule December 4 at Louisville. Miami plays its 2022-23 ACC home opener versus NC State on December 10.

The expansion to 20 conference games means the Miami basketball team will play a schedule versus ACC teams and non-conference opponents in December. Miami will host Cornell on December 7 in between playing at Lousiville and the game against NC State. Miami will play eight ACC opponents once in 2022-23.

Miami will also host St. Francis (PA) and Vermont in December. The other ACC games for Miami in December are versus Virginia on December 20 and at Notre Dame on either December 30 or 31. Miami will host Boston College, Wake Forest and Syracuse while traveling to Clemson, Georgia Tech and North Carolina.

Canes Warning’s partner site Busting Brackets ranks Miami fifth in its offseason ACC Power Rankings. Miami earned its first appearance in a regional final of the NCAA Tournament last season. Miami has replaced the loss of guard Kameron McGusty and Charlie Moore through the transfer portal.

Point guard Nijel Pack from Kansas State and Sun Belt Player of the Year and post Norchad Omier provide Miami with a good inside-out balance with returnee Isaiah Wong for 2022-23. Miami could have its best team ever this season. Miami also returns starter Jordan Miller for the 2022-23 season.

The Hurricanes will finish the regular season with five of its last seven games at home. That includes games versus Duke and Florida State. The penultimate game of the regular season versus the Seminoles should be one of the most important games in determining seeding in the 2023 ACC Tournament.

Florida State and Miami are projected in most preseason power rankings as the fourth and fifth best teams in the ACC. The February 25 game between the Hurricanes and Seminoles could be for a bye in the ACC Tournament. Miami will have a bye before finishing the season versus Pittsburgh on March 4.
