Edge rusher Akheem Mesidor and running back Henry Parrish have been named in the top 10 transfers at their position nationally following week four of the college football season by Mike Huguenin of On3.Com. Mesidor and Parrish have been among the best players on the Miami football team early in 2022.
Mesidor is the fifth-ranked defensive lineman and Parrish the 10th-best RB during the 2022 season according to Huguenin. Parrish leads Miami with 359 yards rushing, is averaging 5.4 yards per carry and has four touchdowns with six receptions for 47 yards and another score. Mesidor has eight tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack.
Mesidor and Parrish have been key players for Miami early in the season. Mesidor missed the Southern Mississippi game with an injury. Parrish is part of a revitalized Miami running game this season. Parrish is sixth in the ACC averaging 86.75 yards per game. Miami is averaging 51.58 more rushing yards per game in 2022.
Mesidor is part of a Miami defense that ranks 36th in sacks and 64th in tackles for loss. According to Pro Football Focus via Inside the U, Mesidor is the highest-rated Miami player with a 90.5 grade through this season. Mesidor has a run defense grade of 84.4, a 79.4 tackling grade and a pass-rushing grade of 86.
Pro Football Focus rates Parrish as the second-highest-graded player on the Miami football roster. Inside the U reported via PFF that Parrish is averaging 2.84 yards per carry after contact and created 20 missed tackles. In pass protection, Parrish has allowed only one sack. Miami has filled in gaps on the roster with transfers.
