The Miami basketball team is ranked 17th in the “College basketball rankings: Andy Katz’s Power 36″ from NCAA.Com. Miami is coming off its first trip to the NCAA Tournament regional finals in March. The Hurricanes return starters Jordan Miller and Isaiah Wong and added transfers Norchad Omier and Nijel Pack.
The fifth starter for Miami in 2022-23 is likely to be forward Anthony Walker. Miami finished the season ranked 16th in the coaches poll that was conducted at the end of the season. Kansas who eliminated Miami in the NCAA Tournament Midwest Regional Final was the unanimous number one after winning the national title.
The 2021-22 Miami basketball team set a high bar for future Hurricanes teams. Miami had a lot of growing pains last season. Miami began the 2021-22 season 4-3 before a nine-game winning streak vaulted the Hurricanes into first place in the ACC with a 5-0 conference record. The Hurricanes were picked to finish 12th in the ACC.
Miami will have a very different rotation in 2022-23 with the exception of Miller and Wong. The Hurricanes expect to get guard Harland Beverly back after he missed last season because of spinal surgery. Sophomore guards Bensley Joseph and Wooga Poplar and redshirt freshman Jakai Robinson should have increased roles.

Perennially ACC and national championship contenders top-ranked North Carolina and number nine Duke are conference teams ahead of Miami.
Katz rated Wong as the 13th-best returning player in college basketball for the 2023-23 season. Pack who was first-team All-Big XII at Kansas State in 2022 should be expected to share being the primary scores for Miami in 2022-23. Omier was first-team all-Sun Belt for Arkansas State in 2022-23.
Miami gains an established low post scorer and rebounder in 2022-23 with the addition of Omier. Miami should be more formidable on the boards and in a half-court game in 2022-23. Miller and Walker provide Miami with versatile players with length. Miami should return to the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
