Miami football continues ACC power rankings fall
The Miami football team continues to fall in the ACC Power Rankins. Miami is 11th in the 247 Sports ACC Power Rankings this week. The Hurricanes dropped one more spot in the power rankings after being ranked 10th last week following back-to-back losses to Texas A&M and Middle Tennessee State.
The Miami football team has a chance to turn the season around when they host North Carolina at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday with a 4:00 kickoff on ESPN 2. North Carolina is seventh in the ACC Power Rankings. Duke is the highest-rated Coastal division team in the ACC Power Rankings and sixth overall.
Miami is better in the metric rankings but still falling. The Hurricanes are fifth in the ESPN Football Power Index among ACC teams but first among Coastal division teams. Miami is 38th nationally in the TeamRankings.com predictive ratings. The Hurricanes are fourth in the ACC and first in the Coastal in the predictive ratings.

Van Dyke needs to return to his 2021 form and Miami has to avoid giving up too many big plays versus North Carolina. Middle Tennessee State had four completions of at least 69 yards versus Miami. Miami held Texas A&M to 264 yards in a 17-9 loss in week two. The Hurricanes need more consistency.

The offense has struggled all season except the season opening win over Bethune-Cookman and the second half versus Southern Mississippi. North Carolina will be the best offense Miami will play this season. Miami needs to produce on offense in a game that could have a lot of points scored.
