Miami football finalist for 2024 top 15 safety Tavoy Feagin pre commitment

The Miami football program is a finalist for Tavoy Feagin who is the 15th-ranked safety in 2024 ahead of his November 20 commitment date. Feagin took an unofficial visit to Miami in July and has not taken any official visits yet. Alabama, Clemson, Florida State and LSU are the other finalists.

Clemson is the favorite to receive a commitment from Feagin. Two crystal balls from 247 Sports project Feagin to receive a commitment from Feagin. The On3 prediction machine lists Clemson as the favorite at 25.3 percent, Florida who is not a finalist at 15 and Alabama 12.8. Every other program is below 10 percent.

Feagin is the 149th ranked player, 15th safety and 29th in Florida in the Class of 2024 according to the 247 Sports composite rankings out of Tampa Carrollwood Day. The 247 ratings rank Feagin much higher than their composite rankings as the sixth best 2024 safety. Feagin is listed as a cornerback by On3.

Miami has two 2024 commits. Four-star Dillard safety Antione Jackson and kicker Abram Murray are the sole 2024 Miami commits. Jackson is expected to reclassify to 2023 per Frank Murray of the Rivals.Com Miami site Canes Country earlier this week. Feagin spoke to Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports about his Miami recruitment.

Various reports after the loss by the Miami football team to North Carolina on Saturday stated the the 2023 recruiting class is locked in with Mario Cristobal and the program. The comments by Feagin about the standard the Miami football program has still resonates with recruits who were not alive when Miami won championships.

The 2023 Miami recruiting class currently has 17 commits and is ranked 10th nationally. None of the 2023 Miami commits are safeties unless Jackson reclassifies. Miami is being highly considered by several highly ranked recruits. Most of the highly ranked 2023 recruits considering Miami will commit close to National Signing Day.
