The Florida State at Miami football game on November 5 has surprisingly been scheduled for a 7:30 PM kickoff time at Hard Rock Stadium on ABC. Florida State versus Miami will receive one of the top ABC/ESPN announcing teams for the prime-time matchup. Wake Forest at North Carolina State also plays that night.

The Demon Deacons and Wolfpack will kick off at 8 PM ET on the ACC Network. If they win their games this week, Wake Forest and North Carolina State will enter their matchup with both teams ranked. Florida State received one point in Associated Press Top 25 this week tying them for 32nd with three other teams.

Florida State is currently 4-3 and Miami 3-4. The Hurricanes and Seminoles provide a greater marquee matchup based on the brands of their programs but are clearly not the teams that North Carolina State and Wake Forest are this season. Florida State is 2-3 and in fourth place in the ACC Atlantic Division.

Miami is 1-2 in the ACC and tied with Pittsburgh for fourth place in the Coastal division. Florida State ended a four-game losing streak to Miami with a 28-24 victory in Tallahassee last season. Jordan Travis scored the game-winning touchdown run with 26 seconds remaining. The Seminoles converted a fourth and 14 on that drive.

Miami leads the all-time series versus Florida State 35 to 31. The Hurricanes’ four-game winning streak from 2017 through 2020 ended seven straight wins by the Seminoles. Miami has been a major disappointment this season after the Hurricanes were chosen by the media as the preseason favorite in the Coastal.

Florida State is one spot ahead of the fifth-place projection had for them. A strong finish to the 2022 season that includes a win over Florida State would take some of the stigmas off of some of the early season missteps. Mario Cristobal will be on the sideline in his first game as a head coach against Florida State.

Miami was 4-1 versus Florida State in the five seasons Cristobal was a player with the Hurricanes from 1989 through 1992. In separate stints for Cristobal on the Miami staff, the Hurricanes were 2-4 versus Florida State. Miami has a lot of work to do for Virginia on Saturday before the staff begins to focus on Florida State.
