Mario Cristobal first-season not an excuse for Miami football record
Included in the Notre Dame wins are victories over North Carolina and Clemson. Miami lost to North Carolina and plays at Clemson on November 19. Oklahoma lost Lincoln Riley to USC and replaced him with former Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables. The Sooners are 5-4 and 25th in the FPI.
Oklahoma is ninth in the team talent composite rankings and have a blue-chip ratio of 71 percent. The season the Sooners are having is the most comparable to the Miami football program thus far in 2022. USC is 8-1 this season and 13th in the FPI. The Trojans are tied for second in the loss column in the Pac 12 with Utah and UCLA.

USC is 11th in the team talent composite rankings, but has a blue-chip ratio of 48.7 percent which places it outside the 15 teams over 50. TCU has been the biggest aberation under first-year head coach Sunny Dykes. Without a 9-0 record, TCU wouldnt be on the list. Former Miami OC Rhett Lashlee succeeded Dykes at SMU.

TCU is ninth in the FPI. The Horned Frogs are 32nd in the team talent composite. TCU has only 17 blue-chip players out of 77 on its roster. The Miami football roster is comparable to the other teams on the list and clearly significantly better than TCU against an easier schedule. TCU has wins over four ranked teams.
