Five-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor discussed what his expectations are with the Miami football program in an article posted on Thursday morning by Chad Simmons of On3.Com. Harbor is the 13th-ranked player nationally, the top athlete and prospect in Washington D.C. in the Class of 2023.

Harbor is known equally for his prowess as a spring as he is a football player. According to 247, Sports Harbor ran 10.22 seconds in the 100 meters and 20.79 200 meters earlier this year. National recruiting analyst Brian Dohn for 247 Sports projects that Harbor has the potential to play edge rusher, linebacker, or tight end.

The speed that Harbor has would be elite for any of those three positions but seems more suited to edge rusher or linebacker. At 6-5, 225 pounds, Harbor has the size to excel as an edge rusher. Miami would be most like to develop Harbor as an edge. Michigan, LSU and South Carolina are the prohibitive favorites to sign Harbor.

Michigan is given a 35.2 percent chance to sign Harbor per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, LSU is second at 29.9 percent and South Carolina is third at 23.3. South Carolina holds the only 247 Sports crystal ball for Harbor. Harbor is impressed by the history of the Miami football program and the 2023 commits.

"What are the expectations that you have when you get to Miami?NH: Expectations…the culture behind Miami. They got a lot of Hall of Famers that (have) come out of that place and they can help me become one. That’s one thing I’d love to do. They just got (in the 2023 class) the No. 1 corner (Cormani McClain), the quarterback (Jaden Rashada…and) (offensive tackle) Francis (Mauigoa). They seem to be getting all these top-ready guys and I want to see what they’re talking about. What’s it mean to have communication with Jason Taylor?NH: I was astounded to talk to him. FaceTiming him for the first time, I was like, ‘Dang, Jason Taylor’s calling me…’We (were) just surprised. That’s an NFL Hall of Famer that’s calling me. And then when Ed Reed texted me, that made my day. I got to talk to Ed Reed!I was just astounded because I used to see him all the time on TV. For me to finally talk to him and pick his brain about stuff, it was one of the best things."

Taylor is currently a defensive analyst for the Miami football program and Reed is the chief of staff. Harbor would be the second projected edge rusher for Miami in the class of 2023. Four-star Miami commit Jayden Wayne is the seventh-ranked edge rusher in the class of 2023. The 2023 Miami class is ranked seventh by On3.

Harbor took official visits to Michigan and South Carolina in September. Official visits to LSU, Maryland and Miami are scheduled for the first three weekends of December in order. Miami could be in a good position getting the last visit from Harbor. The Early National Signing Period is December 21-23.
