The Miami football team travels to Georgia Tech seeking its third straight ACC road win this season and fourth consecutive dating to a win over Duke in the final game of the 2021 season. Georgia Tech ended a two-game losing streak last week with a 28-27 win at Virginia Tech. The Yellow Jackets are 4-5 overall, 2-3 in the ACC.
Georgia Tech has turned its season around under interim head coach Brent Key. The Yellow Jackets fired head coach Geoff Collins following a 1-3 start. Georgia Tech won its first two games under Key before consecutive losses and then the win over Virginia Tech. Miami is projected with a 55.2 percent chance to win via the ESPN FPI.
Georgia Tech and Miami could both start backup quarterbacks. Jeff Sims has missed the last two Georgia Tech games. Tyler Van Dyke left the Miami football game last week after missing the previous week against Virginia with an injured shoulder. Van Dyke apparently reinjured his shoulder last week versus Florida State.
Georgia Tech and Miami each enter the game on Saturday needing two wins to become bowl eligible. Miami has not had a losing regular season record since 2007. Georgia Tech has not qualified for a bowl game since its last season under Paul Johnson following the 2018 season.
