The Miami football team will kick off at 3:30 PM Eastern time on ESPN according to the Clemson Football Twitter account. Miami fans will have a conflict on Saturday with the basketball team starting at 4 PM ET in the Naismith Memorial Basketball HOF Tip-Off Tournament against Providence on ESPN News.
The basketball team will play either Maryland or Saint Louis on Sunday with the game to be broadcasted by either ESPN, ESPN 2, or ESPN U. Sunday’s game times have not been announced. Clemson has defeated the Miami football team the last three times they have played by an average margin of 39.3 points.
Clemson clinched a spot in the ACC Championship game versus North Carolina with a 31-16 win against Louisville on Saturday night. Notre Dame gave Clemson its only loss of the season 35-14 last week in South Bend. Miami needs a close game to prove it can be competitive in big games.
Saturday will be the third time in the last four games the teams will play at Clemson. The only aberration in the last four meetings was the 2017 ACC Championship Game between Clemson and Miami in Charlotte. Miami will qualify for a bowl game with an upset win. Clemson will be a heavy favorite versus Miami.
The ESPN Football Power Index projects Clemson with a 90.7 percent chance to defeat Miami. Miami is projected with a 44.4 percent chance to defeat Pittsburgh in the final regular season game at Hard Rock Stadium on November 26. Pittsburgh won its sixth game on Saturday to become bowl eligible.
Miami is 63rd in the FPI and moved up four spots after the win on Saturday over Georgia Tech. Clemson fell one spot to ninth following its win over Louisville. The Tigers are the highest-rated team in the ACC FPI. Miami ranks 10th among ACC teams in the FPI. Miami defeated three of the four ACC teams below them.
