Miami football commit Malik Bryant commitment 1000 percent closed

In a tweet posted on Tuesday morning four-star, 2023 Miami football linebacker commit Malik Bryant has 1000 percent closed his recruitment. Bryant followed up by stating that when he is playing on Sundays (in the NFL) he will say he graduated from the U. Bryant is the fourth higher-rated player in the 2023 Miami class.

Bryant is ranked by 247 Sports as the 82nd prospect nationally, fifth-ranked LB and 18th in Florida. Miami also has commitments from LBs Raul Aguirre, Kaleb Spencer and Bobby Washington for 2023. Aguirre is a four-star with Spencer and Washington rated as three-star prospects.

Bryant has 57 tackles, six tackles for loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a safety for Jones High School in Orlando this season. The Miami football program received a commitment from Bryant on July 12. There has been some speculation that Bryant could clip to Florida.

All five 247 Sports crystal balls were logged around the time Bryant committed to Miami. The On3 recruiting prediction machine projects Miami with a 65.9 percent chance to receive a commitment from Bryant with Florida at 30.8 percent. Bryant took his official visit to Miami the weekend of June 24.

Florida the weekend of June 10 and Maryland June 17 also received official visits from Bryant. Nine other schools received unofficial visits from Bryant per On3. Central Florida was reportedly the only Group of Five program to receive an unofficial visit from Bryant. Miami and Florida received the most visits from Bryant.

Bryant visited Miami and Florida five times each including the official and unofficial visits. Alabama, Georgia, Florida State and Ohio State were the only other programs to receive multiple visits from Bryant. The Miami LBs corps could have some transition during the 2023 offseason.

Miami starting LBs Wesley Bissainthe and Corey Flagg are expected to return in 2023. Waynmon Steed is the only Miami senior LB in 2022. Several other Miami veteran LBs have not received a lot of playing time this season with eligibility remaining could decide to enter the transfer portal.
