Defensive tackle Allan Haye become the second defensive lineman for the Miami football team to announce his intention to enter the transfer portal at the end of the season. Versatile DL Elijah Roberts announced he will transfer at the end of the season on Sunday night. Haye has played sparingly in two seasons with Miami.

Haye is a redshirt freshman that played one game for Miami in 2021 and had a single appearance in 2022 with one tackle versus Florida State. Haye was rated by 247 Sports as the 922nd player, 115th DL and 117th in Florida in the class of 2021. Expect Miami to have a lot of turnover on the DL for the second straight year.

The Miami football team added five transfer DL to the 2022 roster. Mitchell Agude, Jacob Lichtenstein and Antonio Moultrie are Miami DL in their last seasons of eligibility. Miami will have to add more transfers on the DL during the 2023 offseason to rebuild the depth of players lost through the portal and via graduation.

Haye is the fourth Miami player to announce his intention to enter the transfer portal in the last week. In addition to Haye and Roberts, defensive back Gilbert Frierson and running back Thad Franklin are also seeking new programs at the end of the 2022 season. This is likely just the beginning of multiple Miami transfers.

Miami has 12 scholarship DL with eligibility to return next season. It seems likely Miami will lose more DL to the transfer portal at the end of the season. Miami has kept a fairly tight rotation of six to eight players this season on the DL. Agude has been one of the DL in the rotation and Lichtenstein and Moultrie to a lesser extent.

A DL to watch in the transfer portal could be former Gulliver star Donnell Harris who signed with Texas A&M in 2020. In two seasons with the Aggies, Harris recorded four tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack. Harris medically retired from football in August but was recently cleared by his doctors to return to the gridiron.
