The Miami basketball team returns to the Watsco Center on Wednesday night to host St. Francis of Brooklyn after losing its first game of the season 88-70 to Maryland at the Hall of Fame Tipoff Classic in Connecticut. Miami defeated Providence 74-64 in the HoF semifinals on Saturday for Jim Larranaga’s 700th career win.
Larranaga was a star guard at Providence from 1968 through 1971. St. Francis has started its season 2-2 with wins over Mount St. Mary’s (New York) and Saint Peter’s and losses to Minnesota and Saint Thomas (Minnesota).
