Miami tight end Will Mallory with nine receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown on 14 targets in a 42-16 loss to Pittsburgh on Saturday night. Will Mallory set a career-high with nine receptions. The 103 receiving yards were the second-highest of Mallory’s career. Mallory had 115 receiving yards this season versus North Carolina.

Mallory finished his Miami career with 115 receptions which is the third most ever by a TE, 1,544 yards which tied Willie Smith for second at the position and tied the Hurricanes’ program record with Clive Walford with 14 career TD receptions. Walford holds the Miami TE records with 121 receptions and 1,753 receiving yards.

Mallory led the Miami football team during the 2022 season and set career highs with 42 receptions for 538 yards and fell one shy of his career high with three TD. Mallory had at least four receptions four times this season and reached 40 yards receiving seven times during the 2022 season.

The two 100-yard games this season were the only ones during Mallory’s career. Mallory led or tied for the Miami lead in receptions and receiving yards three times in a game this season. On a team full of young TEs and wide receivers Mallory was a team leader. Mallory returned in 2022 for a fifth season granted because of covid.

Mallory leaves a legacy at Miami after signing with fellow top 10 TE Brevin Jordan in the class of 2018. Miami has a bright future at TE led by returnees Elijah Arroyo and Jaleel Skinner and 2023 commit Riley Williams. The legacy of TE U for the Miami football program should continue in the future.

Mallory has an excellent chance to earn first-team All-ACC after leading the conference in receptions and receiving yards this season. Jordan was the last Miami TE to be named first-team All-ACC in 2019. Jordan currently played in the NFL for the Houston Texans. Mallory hopes to be drafted next spring.
