Miami football 2023 class has best ACC prospect at 6 positions
The 2023 Miami football class has the best prospect in the ACC at six different positions. CB Cormani McClain and OT Francis Mauigoa are the best players at their positions nationally in 2023. Mark Fletcher is the best 2023 ACC RB signee, TE Riley Williams, edge rusher Rueben Bain and Malik Bryant at linebacker.
McClain who is the sole 2023 Miami football commit yet to sign is the second-ranked player nationally, top CB and top recruit from Florida. Mauigoa is the eighth-ranked player in the composite rankings, top OT and second in Florida. Offensive tackle Samson Okunlola is the third five-star prospect in the 2023 Miami class.
Okunlola is the 20th-ranked prospect, third OT nationally and top player in Massachusetts. Bain and Jayden Wayne are the top two incoming edge rushers in the class of 2023. Bain is the 70th-ranked prospect, ninth edge rusher and 14th player in Florida in the class of 2023. Wayne is 72nd 11th and 15th.
Williams is the 105th-ranked player, fourth tight end and 26th player in Florida in the class of 2023. Williams is also the highest-rated offensive position player in the 2023 Miami class. Fletcher is the 243rd ranked prospect, 15th RB and 48th in Florida in 2023 per the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Bryant is one of the most under-recognized players in the 2023 Miami class as the 103rd prospect overall, ninth linebacker and 24th in Florida. Bryant is the fifth-best player in the 2023 Miami class. Raul Aguirre teams with Bryant to give Miami two of the top three LBs in the ACC in the class of 2023.
Aguirre is the 183rd-ranked player, 17th LB and 13th in Georgia for 2023. Mario Cristobal has spoken about upgrading the talent on the Miami roster. The Hurricanes had the 13th-best roster nationally in 2022 per the 247 Sports rankings. The 2023 class is the first Miami has signed in the top 10 since 2018.
This is the five Miami top-five class since they signed the top group of recruits in 2008. Cristobal will elevate Miami from signing blue-chip prospects to more five-star players and top-four stars.
