The Miami basketball game scheduled for Wednesday night versus  Vermont at the Watsco Center has been canceled due to weather-related issues. Miami is 12-1 this season and achieved its highest ranking since 2017 following a 66-64 win over Virginia last Tuesday. Vermont is 6-9 after an 84-72 loss to Toledo last Tuesday.

The Miami basketball team moved up to 14th in the AP Top 25 and 16 in the coaches poll following their win over Virginia. Wins over North Carolina State, Louisville and Virginia have placed Miami on top of the ACC at 3-0. Clemson and Pittsburgh at 2-0 are the only other teams in the ACC without a loss.

Vermont was scheduled to be the last non-conference game for Miami this season. Jim Larranaga and his staff will switch their attention to Notre Dame on Friday in South Bend. The Fighting Irish are 7-5 overall and 0-2 in the ACC. Miami is 12-15 all-time versus Notre Dame with four straight losses to the Fighting Irish.

Notre Dame has lost three straight games and will host Jacksonville on Tuesday night. The game on Friday night is the only meeting between Miami and Notre Dame this season. The Miami basketball team last defeated Notre Dame 62-47 in 2019. Notre Dame has lost five of its last seven after starting 5-0.

Miami has started 3-0 in the ACC for the second straight season. The Hurricanes started the 2021-22 season 5-0 in the ACC. The ESPN Basketball Power Index favors Miami to win 11 of their last 15 games. That would be a 23-7 finish entering the ACC Tournament. A top-four ACC finish earns a bye in the conference tournament.
