Miami football signee Rueben Bain showing DL versatility at UA week

Miami football signee Rueben Bain has continued to show his versatility during practice ahead of the Under Armour game this week according to Rivals.Com. Bain was profiled as part of the “UA Game: Team Speed takeaways from Day 3″ by Ryan Wright the Rivals.com National Recruiting Analyst.

Bain is the 102nd ranked player, 12th strongside defensive end and 19th best prospect in Florida in the Class of 2023 per the Rivals.Com rankings. The 247 Sports composite rankings have Bain as the 71st overall prospect, ninth edge rusher and 14th in Florida. Bain is 111th, the 13 defensive linemen and 24th in Florida per On3.

Bain had 150 tackles, 94 tackles for loss and 58 sacks in four seasons for Miami Central. In the last two seasons, Bain had 110 tackles, 70 TFLs and 48.5 sacks. Bain earned the Nat Moore Trophy as the best player in South Florida this season. Rivals ranks Bain as the fifth-highest Miami 2023 defensive signee.

Bain will provide Miami with a versatile DL with the ability to be an end or tackle. As an elite pass rusher, Bain will have an opportunity to compete for snaps as a true freshman. Expect Miami to at least provide Bain with snaps as a situational pass rusher. The Under Armour All-American Game is Tuesday at 5:00 PM on ESPN.

Bain will be joined in the Under Armour game by Miami football commit, five-star cornerback Cormani McClain, plus Hurricanes’ signees five-star offensive tackles Francis Mauigoa and Samson Okunlola and four-star prospects, CB Robert Stafford and DL Collins Acheampong and tight end Riley Williams.

McClain is committed to Miami but did not sign his National Letter of Intent last month. Alabama, Colorado and Florida are reportedly still recruiting McClain. Bain has shown the ability to rush the passer from inside and outside during practices in Orlando this week. Bain could exceed his recruiting rankings.
