More drama emerges in Cormani McClain recruitment
Multiple posts have emerged on social media that five-star cornerback Cormani McClain is in Boulder this weekend to visit with Deion Sanders and the Colorado football program. The reports occurred a day after Inside the U and On3 changed their projections that McClain would sign with Miami to Colorado.
The drama from Cormani McClain has set Miami football social media ablaze with allegations, projections and speculation about where the Lakeland prospect will commit to. At this point, all signs point toward Colorado. McClain reportedly left Lakeland with Miami coaches on their way for a visit.
It has been well documented at this point that McClain committed to Miami on October 27 defying the vast majority of projections that expected him to commit to Florida. The commitment to Miami was seemingly strong until Alabama made a strong late push and once Sanders was hired at Colorado.
Longtime national recruiting expert Mike Farrell reported on his website on Friday that Alabama backed away from McClain due to the drama and too many red flags. Colorado and Sanders need to make a splash to generate publicity and significantly improve what was the 63rd-ranked college football roster in 2023.

McClain is set to re-announce his commitment on Sunday. The finalists are reportedly Alabama, Colorado, Florida and Miami. Florida has not been mentioned in the recruitment of McClain since roughly the Early National Signing Period last month. The drama with McClain will not likely end on Sunday.
McClain cannot sign a National Letter of Intent until February 1. Miami should and seemingly will move on from McClain if he commits to Colorado. The Hurricanes have the fourth-ranked recruiting class in the country with or without McClain per the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Miami is reportedly targeting 2022 five-star Georgia signee Jaheim Singletary who entered the transfer portal on Friday. Singletary would provide Miami with a CB that has one year of experience in college and without the drama that McClain has provided over the last three and a half weeks.
