The Cormani McClain saga continued on Friday night when recruiting analysts from 247 Sports and On3 logged projections that the 5-star CB and second-ranked player in the 2023 class would flip to Colorado. While Miami Hurricanes fans follow what McClain will do, the basketball team plays at North Carolina State on Saturday.

McClain committed to the Miami Hurricanes football program on October 27. Most projections at the time had McClain projected to commit to Florida. Alabama and Colorado both emerged as programs that could potentially flip McClain from Miami. Mike Farrell reported that McClain’s decision is coaching and NIL based.

McClain reportedly wanted Miami defensive analyst DeMarcus Van Dyke who is his primary recruiter to be promoted to an on-field role. McClain has a second commitment date scheduled for Sunday after not showing up to his own press conference on Early National Signing Day in December.

The Miami basketball team will create its own drama on the court on Saturday at North Carolina State. Miami is 14-2 and seeks to sweep the season series from NC State after winning in Coral Gables last month. Miami hopes to move back up in the rankings after falling following a loss at Georgia Tech last week.

Miami has other options at CB if McClain commits to Colorado.

Georgia CB Jaheim Singletary who was signed with the Bulldogs by current Miami defensive backs coach Jahmile Addae

entered the transfer portal on Friday. Singletary was a five-star signee in 2022 and the 27th prospect, fifth CB and fifth player in Florida.
