Miami football releases spring schedule and game dates

The Miami football program will begin spring practice on March 4 and have its spring game on Friday, April 14 at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale via a press release on Monday. Miami will have 15 spring dates as tweeted out by Miami staff member Dennis Smith on Monday and posted below.

Fifteen of the 25 2023 Miami football signees are early enrollees and will be ready for spring practice. Per Susan Miller-Degnan of the Miami Herald practice sessions are usually closed to the public with occasional exceptions made for alumni. Miami will enter spring practice with two new staff members.

The firing of Josh Gattis on Friday left openings at offensive coordinator and wide receiver coach to go with the previous departure of quarterbacks coach Frank Ponce earlier this month. Expect Miami to hire an OC who coaches QBs and a separate WR coach. Gattis being OC and WR coach was an unusual arrangement.

Miami will have a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday spring practice schedule with the exception of the Spring game. The 2023 Miami football schedule will be announced at 7 PM Eastern Time on the ACC Network. The ACC has a new schedule in 2023 with the elimination of the Atlantic and Coastal Divisions.

The new Miami football annual opponents all were in the Atlantic Division. Miami will play Boston College, Florida State and Louisville every season. The Hurricanes will play the other 10 ACC football programs on a two-year on-and-off schedule. Miami did not play BC or Louisville in 2022.

After a 5-7 2022 season, Miami has many questions entering the 2023 season. Miami has to develop its backup QBs, integrate what will be a mostly new offensive line and get as many snaps as possible for the seventh-best 2023 signing class. Miami has also added seven transfers to the 2023 roster.
