Miami Hurricanes News: National Signing Day News and WBB at Clemson

National Signing Day was uneventful for the Miami Hurricanes football program as the two remaining players that were being recruited signed elsewhere. After National Signing Day Miami has the seventh-best class nationally. The Miami women’s basketball team attempts to move up in the ACC standings at Clemson on Thursday.

Miami signed 25 players in the class of 2023. Fifteen 2023 Miami football signees enrolled early. The other 10 will enroll this summer. Miami also added eight transfers for the 2023 season. The Miami transfer class is 11th nationally. Miami was still recruiting athlete Nyckoles Harbor and defensive tackle Jamel Howard.

Harbor who is a freakish athlete that is projected as a huge wide receiver or tight end in college is a sprinter with aspirations to run in the Olympics. South Carolina earned a National Letter of Intent from Harbor who four-star prospect from Washington D.C. Howard is a three-star prospect from Chicago who signed with Wisconsin.

The Miami Hurricanes women’s basketball team had a chance to take the lead in the last 10 seconds at Wake Forest on Sunday before losing 55-52. Miami dropped to 13-8 overall, 6-4 and in eighth place in the ACC. Clemson is 13-10 overall and 4-7 in the ACC. The Miami men’s basketball team plays at Clemson on Saturday.

Miami made official the signing of transfers, center Matthew Lee, cornerback Terry Roberts, defensive tackle Branson Deen and tight end Cameron McCormick on Wednesday. Miami also added CB Davonte Brown, DT Thomas Gore, linebacker Francisco Mauigoa and offensive lineman, Javion Cohen.

Although Miami signed its entire class in December during the Early National Signing Period, five-star offensive tackles Francis Mauigoa and Samson Okunlola were analyzed as part of the coverage today by 247 Sports. Andrew Ivins the Director of Scouting for 247 Sports expects Mauigoa and Okunlola to play as freshmen.

Miami signed two five-star players in the same class for the second time in three years. Miami signed five-star DT Leonard Taylor and safety James Williams in the 2021 class. Taylor and Williams were the first pair of five-star signees for Miami in the same class since CB Tracy Howard and running back Duke Johnson in 2021.
