The Miami basketball team will seek to break a three-game Saturday road losing streak at Clemson this week. Miami has lost at North Carolina State, Duke and Pittsburgh the last three Saturdays by seven points combined. Miami lost an eight-point lead at Pittsburgh in the last 2:26 of the game losing 68-66.

Miami defeated Virginia Tech 92-83 at home on Tuesday night. The Hurricanes are 12-0 at home this season and 4-4 in true road games. Saturday is a big game in the ACC standings. Clemson leads the ACC with a 10-2 record. Miami is tied with North Carolina State for fourth in the ACC with an 8-4 record.

Miami and North Carolina State split the season series with each winning at home. Clemson was upset 62-54 at Boston College on Tuesday night. That ended a three-game Tigers losing streak. The other Clemson ACC loss was 87-77 at Wake Forest last month prior to the Tigers beginning their three-game win streak.

The Clemson and Miami basketball teams did not play during the 2022 calendar year. Miami won the last meeting 80-75 at the Watsco Center in December 2021. The Hurricanes have traditionally struggled at Clemson with a 3-9 all-time record at Littlejohn Coliseum. Clemson is 12-0 at home this season.

Miami needs to get off to a good start on the road and be able to show it can finish. The Hurricanes fell into a 16-8 hole versus Virginia Tech on Tuesday before rallying late in the second half to clinch the win. Miami led for most of the second half versus Pittsburgh last Saturday before losing.

The Miami at Clemson game features the best defense in the ACC versus the most efficient offense. Miami leads the ACC shooting 48.3 percent from the floor. Clemson tops the ACC holding opponents to 39.5 percent from the floor. It will also match up Miami’s third-best scoring offense versus Clemson’s third-best scoring defense.
