Miami football coaching carousel with recent departures and hire

With Guidry’s experience coaching defensive backs, he could have a very good chance to turn the Hurricanes’ secondary from a liability to a strength. Lastly, we are brought to Charlie Strong, who recently left as a result of the Guidry hire. Strong may have been the only coach to improve his position group, with linebacker play improving.
It wasn’t perfect, but there were legitimate signs of growth in the 2022 season in the middle of the defense for the Miami football team. With Strong leaving there is a hole where so much improvement is still needed to be made. There may not be someone in the coaching carousel with as big a name as Charlie Strong.
With Lance Guidry's hiring as @CanesFootball DC, co-coordinator Charlie Strong told ESPN he will not return: "Coach Cristobal and the program made a decision to go in a different direction. It's time for me to go in a different direction." Strong was not interviewed for the job.

With the direction this group went the past year, it would be difficult for the upcoming coach to turn around and stunt the growth of this group. Especially with the arriving talent coming in. Mario Cristobal has less than a month of time to get his coaches in place before spring practices start, which could go by faster than he anticipates.
If Miami plans on getting the team situated in time, these hires need to be made before the gears start to turn. More importantly, these hires need to be a step up from last year. Without showing signs of improvement next season, Cristobal will face a lot of pressure not only from the fans but likely from the university.
