Susan Miller Degnan of the Miami Herald reported on Wednesday that the Miami Hurricanes football program has interviewed San Francisco 49ers wide receiver coach and UM alum Leonard Hankerson for the same position. Also on Wednesday the Miami baseball team defeated Indiana State 9-3.

Hankerson and Baltimore Ravens assistant Keith Williams who has the title of pass game specialist are the only two prospects for the Miami Hurricanes WR coach who have interviewed two sources told Miller Degnan. Mario Cristobal and offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson can focus on hiring a WR coach.

After reports on Tuesday that Miami is hiring Tim Harris Jr. as their running backs coach, WR coach remains the only open position on the Miami staff. Hiring a new WR coach is imperative as Miami begins spring practice on March 4. Another name to watch could be Indianapolis Colts WR coach and Miami alum Reggie Wayne.

The Miami baseball team continued its power surge with three home runs versus Stetson. Miami entered Wednesday fifth nationally with 11 HRs. Depending on other results Miami could move up to third nationally in HRs. Edgardo Villegas, Yohandy Morales and Blake Cyr twice homered for Miami versus Indiana State.

FanDuel has released some early odds for 2023 college football games. The only Miami game on the board is September 9 versus Texas A&M. Miami is a 4.5-point underdog versus Texas A&M in the early FanDuel lines. Most college football programs have not finalized 2023 rosters. Expect a spring transfer portal surge.

The Miami basketball team moved into first place in the ACC on Wednesday night when Boston College beat Virginia 64-48. Miami is 14-4 with two games left and Virginia is 13-4. The Miami women’s basketball team has a huge game at Louisville on Thursday night. Miami is 17-10, 10-6 in the ACC. Louisville is 20-9, 11-5.
