New Miami Hurricanes coordinators Shannon Dawson on offense and Lance Guidry on defense met with reporters for the first time. Dawson spoke about the Air Raid offense and Guidry praised Jason Taylor during their interviews. The Miami basketball left for Greensboro and the ACC Tournament on Tuesday.

Dawson elaborated on how the Air Raid offense has evolved since he was an assistant under Hal Mumme at Southeastern Louisiana in 2004. Miami will adapt the personnel on the roster to the offense that Dawson runs. Dawson also praised Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke. Dawson wants Van Dyke to use his natural ability.

After winning its second ACC regular season title and first since 2013 the Miami basketball team left for Greensboro and the conference tournament. Miami will begin play on Thursday at noon versus the winner of Syracuse and Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons and Orange play at noon on Wednesday.

Guidry extensively spoke about injuries on the defensive line to Akeem Mesidor, Jahfari Harvey, Leonard Taylor and Jared Harrison-Hunte and how that’s limited spring practice early, installing the new defensive philosophy and what to expect differently from the scheme Miami played last season.

The Miami Hurricanes baseball team will return home on Wednesday to host Jacksonville after finishing 1-3 last week at Florida Atlantic and Florida. Miami dropped to 8-4 with their loss at Florida in the series finale on Sunday. The Hurricanes begin ACC play this weekend at home versis North Carolina State.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald highlighted Javion Cohen participating in his practice with the Hurricanes after missing Saturday, went in depth on the rest of the offensive line and discussed impactful injuries. Jackson stated the Cristobal is optomistic former starting left tackle Zion Nelson will be able to play in 2023.

Jackson also discussed how the transfers are performing for Miami during spring practice and took a look at the depth chart. Miami has one more practice on Thursday before they are able to go full contact. Cristobal has a lot to figure out with his staff with still over a month remaining until the spring game.
