Bekkem Kritza the 103rd-ranked prospect and ninth-ranked quarterback by Rivals.Com in the 2025 class praised Mario Cristobal as the most down-to-earth coach as part of the “Rivals Camp Series Los Angeles: Prospects talk top head coach recruiters Rivals listed only six schools with interest in Kritza.

Colorado, Colorado State, Kansas, Texas A&M and Texas State are the schools listed by Rivals in addition to Miami. Kritza was one of 16 2025 prospects interviewed at the Rivals Camp Series Los Angeles. Miami is reportedly targeting adding two QBs in the 2024 class. The Hurricanes are thin at QB entering the 2023 season.

Projected starter Tyler Van Dyke, rising sophomore Jacurri Brown and 2023 signee Emory Williams are the only scholarship QBs on the spring roster. Entering the 2023 season with only three QBs would be one or two below what most programs have nationally. Miami does not have QB committed for 2024.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects Texas A&M with a 55.0 percent chance to receive a commitment from Kritza as the majority favorite. Colorado is second at 17.1 percent, Colorado State third at 14.6 and fourth at Miami12.2. The 247 Sports list has the same interests as Rivals for Kritza but omits Texas State.

"Bekkem Kritza: “I’d say coach (Mario) Cristobal at Miami. He’s just a cool dude and probably the most down to earth coach I have met so far.”"

Mario Cristobal is a relentless recruiter and several other prospects have mentioned hearing directly from the Miami head coach. At 6’4, 195 pounds, Kritza already has excellent size with two years before starting college to continue to grow and fill out. Miami received an unofficial visit from Kritza earlier this month.
