5-star WR JoJo Trader’s comments re: Miami football out of context
Five-star 2024 wide receiver Joshisa “JoJo” Trader had his comments taken out of context regarding the Miami football program per Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Adam Gorney. Miami is the consensus favorite for a commitment from Trader as listed on most national recruiting websites.
The observations about Trader were in the column “Gorney’s Takeaways: OT7 in Phoenix.” Trader has 31 total offers, The Rivals Future Cast projects Miami with a 100 percent chance for a commitment from Trader. Steve Wiltfong 247 Sports Director of Football Recruiting logged a crystal ball for Trader to Miami in January.
That is the sole 247 Sports crystal ball for Trader. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects the Miami football program with a 92.8 percent chance for a commitment from Trader. Rivals ranks Trader as the 11th-best prospect nationally, second in Florida and the third-best wide receiver.
Trader is ranked 14th overall by On3 and as the fourth-best WR and prospect in Florida for 2024. The 247 Sports rankings have Trader 11th overall, the second-best athlete and third in Florida. A commitment from Trader would be a cornerstone prospect for Mario Cristobal and WR coach Kevin Beard in the 2024 Class.

Miami only has one commit in its 2024 Class. Under Beard who played on the 2001 Miami national championship team and was on the Hurricanes staff in 2014 and 2015 the recruiting at WR. expected to be upgraded. Nathaniel Joseph and Robby Washington were the only two WRs Miami signed in its 2023 class.
Miami has offered 38 WRs in the 2024 class. Trader is the fourth highest-rated prospect Miami offered in the 2024 class and the third highest-rated WR. Jeremiah Smith who is a teammate of Trader at Chaminade-Madonna is committed to Ohio State and is the top-ranked 2024 Miami target.

If Miami can flip Smith and receive a commitment from Trader the Hurricanes will have a chance to sign its best-ever WR class. Miami has not signed a five-star WR since Lance Leggett in 2004. Leggett is one of only three five-star WRs to ever sign with Miami. Trader is a critical recruit in the 2024 Miami class.
