Miami Hurricanes News: Elite 8 X2, FB recruiting visits, Bats lose at WF
Sunday is the biggest day in the history of Miami Hurricanes basketball with the men and women playing in regional finals. The Miami football team held a scrimmage and hosted several blue-chip recruits on Saturday while holding their first scrimmage this spring. The Miami baseball team lost 4-1 at second-ranked Wake Forest.
Following wins on Friday by the Miami Hurricanes basketball teams the fifth-seeded men play second-seed Texas and the ninth-seeded women play third-seed LSU in the regional finals with each one win away from earning their first berths in the Final Four. Both teams are underdogs according to the Fan Duel odds.
The Miami men have been impressive in their last two games with a 16-point win over Indiana in the second round and a 14-point win over Houston in the Midwest Regional Semifinals on Friday night in Kansas City. The Miami women’s team has set an NCAA Tournament record with a combined eight-point margin in three games.
Gaby Urritia of Inside the U outlined the blue-chip recruits who visited this weekend including five-star defensive linemen David Stone and Kamarion Franklin and edge rusher Elijah Rushing. Four-star quarterback Luke Mogoa who like Rushing is from Arizona was the line signal caller in Coral Gables this weekend.
Urritia extensively outlined several more recruits who were in Coral Gables this weekend. Four-star quarterback Air Noland on Saturday announced his top seven that includes Miami.

The Miami baseball team was dominated by the Wake Forest pitching staff for the second straight game losing 4-1 in Winston-Salem. Miami will attempt to avoid the sweep with first pitch on Sunday at noon. The Hurricanes are now 15-8 overall and 5-3 in the ACC this season. Miami plays its midweek game versus FIU on Tuesday.
