One day after qualifying for the first Final Four in Miami Hurricanes basketball history, Jim Larranaga had multiple media appearances. The Miami football team had Pro Day and appears to be leading for a commitment for four-star 2024 quarterback Air Noland. Tight end Will Mallory reportedly had the best performance at pro day.

Larranaga had a general meeting with reporters on Monday afternoon before appearing on Hurricane Hotline on WQAM with Miami play-by-play announcer Joe Zagacki. Larranaga discussed his day less than 48 hours after the historic Miami win, preparing with his staff for Connecticut and the state of South Florida basketball.

David Lake of Inside the U reported that

TE Will Mallory shines at Miami’s 2023 Pro Day.”

Lake reported that Mallory did not run the 40-yard dash on Pro Day after a 4.54 time at the NFL Combine. Mallory reportedly ran the short shuttle and thrived in position drills. Mallory was happy with his performance on Pro Day.

Other Miami Hurricanes players who participated in Pro Day were defensive backs D.J. Ivey and Tyrique Stevens, defensive end Mitchell Agude, defensive lineman Antonio Moultrie, linebacker Caleb Johnson offensive linemen D.J. Scaife and Justice Oluwaseun, punter Lou Hedley and running back Lucius Stanley.

Per Lake, Stevenson stated that most NFL teams have inquired about him playing nickel and safety. Ivey was quoted as saying the teams want to how well he moves and transitions. Ivey was pleased with his Pro Day performance. Agude’s explosiveness and 10-inch hands impressed scouts per Lake.

Johnson ran a 4.47 40 and Scaife had a 5.1 per Lake. Olusaweun had 33 bench press reps at 225 pounds and has heard from the Dolphins, Raiders, Seahawks and Texans. Mallory and Stevenson are the only Miami players expected to be drafted. Mario Cristobal is working on improving the depth of talent on the Miami roster.

The Miami Hurricanes basketball team had Monday off and Larranaga said they will practice on Wednesday in Miami before leaving for Houston and the Final Four. In the meetings with reporters, Larranaga stated the biggest thing in getting his players ready to play on Saturday is getting them adjusted to the dome.

The need for players to communicate with each other with the difficulty hearing the coaches is a challenge in a dome per Larranaga. Miami will play Connecticut in the second national semifinal on Saturday at 8:49 PM ET. Larrananga is the only one of the four coaches in the 2023 Final Four with previous experience.

Adam Gorney of Rivals.Com projects that four-star quarterback Air Noland will commit to the Miami Hurricanes football program when he announces his college destination on April 8. Kicker Abram Murray is the only 2024 Miami commit. Texas A&M is the primary competition for Miami receiving a commitment from Noland.
