Yatil Green WR Dolphins1st round, 15th overall 1997

Green was a speedy receiver for the Hurricanes with 84 receptions for 1,477 yards and 10 TDs during his three seasons in college. The Dolphins spent a mid-first-round pick on Green with the hope he would complement the possession receivers already on their roster. Injuries plagued Green throughout his career.

Green missed his rookie season with a torn quadriceps muscle, ACL, and cartilage in his right knee. Miami did not sign any speed receivers during the 1998 offseason. Green again tore his ACL in training camp. Green made his NFL debut with 18 receptions for 234 yards and no TDs in eight games.

That was Green’s only NFL season.  Green was cut by the Dolphins following the 1999 season. The New York Jets signed Green during the 2000 offseason but he never played and was cut during the season. Green signed with the Oakland Raiders, but they cut Green during the 2001 preseason.

Green Set a career-high with five receptions versus the Indianapolis Colts in 1999 week 12 and 73 yards a week later at the New York Jets. Green’s numbers tailed off in the final three games of the regular season. Green’s career will always be unfulfilled potential caused by injuries.
