Jerome McDougle Philadelphia Eagles 1st round 15th overall 2003.

McDougle redshirted with Miami in 2000 after redshirting as a transfer from Hinds Junior College. Playing on the 2001 national championship team McDougle was a third-team All-American. McDougle recorded 48 QB hurries, seven sacks, 15 TFLs, 59 tackles, three forced fumbles and a pick-six.

McDougle was a third-team All-American as a senior in 2002. Helping Miami to an undefeated regular season McDougle had 55 tackles, 16 TFLs, seven sacks, and 26 QB hurries. In the two seasons McDougle played for Miami the Hurricanes were 23-1 and came within on questionable call of two National Championships.

Philadelphia traded up 15 spots to draft McDougle. Like many on this list, McDougle’s career was hindered by injuries. As a rookie, McDougle sustained ankle, knee, and hip injuries that caused him to miss eight games. In 2004 McDougle missed five games after suffering a knee sprain versus Dallas.

McDougle missed the entire 2005 season after being shot during a robbery of his home. Returning in 2006, McDougle matched his career high with 13 tackles and added one sack, two passes defended, a sack, and two QB hits. McDougle was injured again in 2007 tearing his triceps which caused him to miss the entire season.

McDougle was cut during training camp in 2008. The New York Giants signed McDougle, where the played the final four games of his NFL career. McDougle was not the only bust from the Miami football program drafted in 2003. More about who joins McDougle on the list in the next slide.
