Greg Biggins of 247 Sports named the Miami football program in his article published Wednesday Miami football program in “War Daddy Recruit: Breaking down the contenders for 5-star DL Aydin Breland.” Biggins reported on Wednesday that Breland is expected to attend the Miami spring game.

Biggins analyzes the chances for Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State and Oklahoma in Breland’s recruitment. Breland is the 37th-ranked prospect, sixth defensive lineman and third player in California in the class of 2024. Miami does not have any commitments from defensive players in the 2024 class.

Breland is higher rated than any of the 2023 Miami defensive signees. Rueben Bain was the highest-rated 2023 Miami defensive signee. Bain had a 0.9709 rating and was the 63rd prospect, 11th DL and 15th player from Florida in the 2023 Class. Breland has a grade of .9796 from 247 Sports.

No 247 Sports crystal balls have been logged for Breland. Miami is the third favorite to receive a commitment from Breland at 14.7 percent per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. USC is the favorite per On3 at 19.6 percent and Oregon is second at 17.2 percent. Biggins spoke to Breland about his Miami recruitment.

"“The coaches are so genuine and I really enjoyed talking with coach coach Joe (Salave’a) and coach Cristobal…The atmosphere was incredible, the campus was great and overall, the trip was way better than I expected. .. Coach Cristobal was the first coach to offer me when I was in 8th grade when he was at Oregon.I still remember talking to him and how the offer went down. He was so easy to talk with back then so I was wondering if it would still be like that when I saw him this weekend and it felt like old times.”"

This weekend is the second scheduled unofficial visit to the Miami football program. Breland previously visited last month. Nine other schools have previously received unofficial visits from Breland. Breland has not taken an official visit yet. Oregon and USC are the only other programs that have received two unofficial visits from Breland.

Breland will visit Georgia a second time in June. Georgia is the only program that Breland has a future visit scheduled to per On3. Both visits that Breland took to USC were in 2022. Defensive line coach Joe Salave’a is listed as Miami’s primary recruiter for Breland per On3. At 6’5 and 285 pounds, Breland has a lean muscular build.
