After the Miami Hurricanes football team had its 15th and final spring practice on Thursday, the spring game is finally here. The spring game will kick off at 7:30 PM at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. The Miami baseball team earned a 5-4 win at North Carolina on Thursday night in the first game of a three-game series.

The spring game has a plethora of questions to be answered. About half the Miami staff is new and the Hurricanes have 23 new players this spring. The biggest questions will be how much have new defensive Lance Guidry and offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson been able to develop their systems.

Miami Hurricanes quarterback Tyler Van Dyke is reportedly more comfortable with the new offense. Safety Kamren Kinchens spoke to the media on Thursday and stated that the new defense will have far more fronts and looks this season. Mario Cristobal and Van Dyke also spoke to the media on Thursday.

Cristobal stated spring game expectations. “We’re going to play football…How exotic it’ll be, depends. There’s going to be some stuff that’s a lot of fun and some other stuff you’re going to hold back…It’ll be a snapshot of some of the things. There’s nobody in the country that’s gonna open up what you do. You’d be foolish to do so.”

The win by the Miami baseball team at North Carolina on Thursday night was their first ACC road victory this season. Miami improves to 21-12 overall and 9-7 in the ACC with the win. North Carolina is 23-11 overall and 8-6 in the ACC. The series between the Hurricanes and Tar Heels is critical in the ACC standings.

Miami and North Carolina play at 7:00 PM ET on ESPN 2 on Friday night and conclude the three-game series on Saturday afternoon on ACC Network Extra. The Hurricanes and Tar Heels are both in a position to finish in the top 16 nationally and host a regional. Miami is 16th nationally in the RPI and North Carolina is 31st.
