The Miami Hurricanes football team held its spring game at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night. The Miami baseball game at North Carolina was suspended in the eighth inning tied at 7. At the same time as the spring game, four-star St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver Chance Robinson committed to Miami.

Quarterbacks Tyler Van Dyke and Emory Williams were impressive in the new offensive under coordinator Shannon Dawson. Van Dyke who threw two touchdown passes and Williams with one were both accurate and not afraid to throw the ball downfield. Jacurri Brown struggled completing 5-11 for 55 yards.

Robinson is a huge commitment for the 2024 Miami class. The 247 Sports composite database ranks Robinson as the 135th prospect, 22nd wide receiver and 25th in Florida out of St. Thomas Aquinas. Miami is gaining momentum in its 2024 recruiting class after receiving a commitment from QB Judd Anderson last week.

The Miami Hurricanes baseball team took a 6-0 lead in the top of the third inning. North Carolina rallied and led 7-6 after six innings. Miami scored a run in the top of the seventh to tie the score. With one out and a runner on third base in the top of the eighth inning, thunderstorms suspended the game until Saturday at 1 PM ET.

David Lake of Inside of Inside the U praised Dawson and Van Dyke offensively and defensive lineman Rueben Bain and linebacker Francisco Mauigoa defensively and stated the Miami recruiting class is starting to gain momentum with the commitments from Anderson and Robinson.

Nick Schultz of On3 wrote about Pete Thamel of ESPN interviewing Miami athletic director Dan Radakovich during the spring game broadcast. Radakovich spoke about the evolution of NIL and the need to continually raise money each year due to new athletes joining the Hurricanes program.
