WR Chance Robinson first 2024 Miami football blue chip commit
St. Thomas Aquinas four-star wide receiver Chance Robinson is the first blue-chip commit in the 2024 Miami football class. Robinson tweeted his commitment to Miami on Friday night while the Hurricanes’ spring game was being played in Fort Lauderdale. Robinson is the first Miami commit from St. Thomas Aquinas since 2018.
Robinson is the 144th-ranked prospect, 23rd WR and 20th recruit in Florida in the 2024 Class. The Miami football program previously had commitments from kicker Abram Murray and three-star quarterback Judd Anderson who committed last week. Miami now has the 48th-ranked class following the commitment from Robinson.
Robinson had 29 receptions for 540 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior in 2022. At 6’1.5, 190 pounds, Robinson will provide Miami with much needed size on the outside. Miami received six visits from Robinson. Four of those visits were since March 23 and three occurred in the last week.
Florida State was the only other program with multiple visits from Robinson at three. The last visit by Robinson to Tallahassee was in November. All of the previous visits for Robinson were unofficial. Robinson has official visits to Penn State on June 2 and Auburn on June 9 scheduled per On3.

New WRs coach Kevin Beard has been the primary recruiter for Robinson with offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson as the secondary. The new offense under Dawson is expected to help Miami recruit at the offensive skill positions. Beard has quickly made an impact on the current WRs and prospects.
Miami will attempt to match its high 67 percent (16 out of 24 signees) blue chip ratio in the 2023 class. Nathaniel Joseph and Robby Washington who were the only WRs Miami signed in the 2023 class were both rated four stars. For 2024 Miami is the prohibitive favorite for a commitment from five-star WR JoJo Trader.
Beard as the primary and Dawson secondary are leading the recruitment for Trader. The 247 Sports composite rankings have Trader as the 16th overall prospect, top athlete and fourth player in Florida for 2024. Robinson and Trader were youth teammates on the Miami Gardens Ravens.
