A commitment from Paramus (New Jersey) Catholic offensive lineman Juan Minaya moved the 2024 Miami football recruiting class to 28th in the 247 Sports Composite rankings. Minaya is the sixth commit to the 2024 Miami recruiting class and the first OL. Miami has picked up five 2024 commitments this month.

The Hurricanes have been hot in the last five days. Miami received a commitment from four-star wide receiver Chance Robinson on Friday, followed by defensive back Dylan Day on Sunday and running back Chris Wheatley-Humphrey on Monday. Quarterback Judd Anderson committed on April 7.

Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U projects Minaya as an interior OL at 6’6, 330 pounds. Minaya is listed as the 815th prospect, 60th offensive tackle and 16th recruit in New Jersey in the 2024 Class per On3. Minaya visited Miami in March and this past weekend for the spring game before committing on Tuesday.

In addition to Miami, Maryland, Michigan State and Penn State have received visits from Minaya. Penn State is the only other program that Minaya took multiple visits to. Minaya has an official visit scheduled with Miami for the weekend of June 23. No other programs have official visits scheduled for Minaya.

Minaya tagged multiple Miami staffers on his tweet announcing his commitment to the Hurricanes. Offensive line coach Alex Mirabal is listed as the recruiter for Minaya on multiple recruiting websites. Head coach Mario Cristobal and Quality Control Analyst Edwin Pata were also reportedly involved in Minaya’s recruitment.

Minaya continues the emphasis on recruiting offensive linemen under Cristobal. Miami signed five OL in the 2023 Class and added center Matt Lee and guard Javion Cohen through the transfer portal. The Hurricanes have offered 54 OL in the 2024 Class. Most of the 2024 OL Miami offered scholarships to remain uncommitted.
