Multiple reports emerged on Tuesday that Oklahoma cornerback Jaden Davis and Florida wide receiver Xzavier Henderson visited the Miami football program after announcing their transfers earlier this month. Davis is a St. Thomas Aquinas alum and Henderson prepped at Columbus High School.

In four seasons at Oklahoma, Davis had 104 tackles, one interception and 11 pass breakups. Davis was the 225th-ranked prospect, 25th CB and 32nd-ranked recruit in Florida in the Class of 2019 per the 247 Sports composite rankings. Davis is using his covid year to transfer and play somewhere else. Miami needs depth at CB.

Henderson led Florida with 38 receptions for 410 yards and two touchdowns in 2022. In three seasons with Florida Henderson had 73 receptions for 835 yards and five TDs. In 2022 Henderson set career highs for receptions and yards. At 6’3 and 198 pounds Henderson provides Miami with needed size on the outside at WR.

Miami previously added CB Terry Roberts as a transfer from Iowa. In December head coach Mario Cristobal stated that Miami was looking for a defensive tackle and outside WRs through the transfer portal. Miami added DTs Branson Deen from Purdue and Thomas Gore from Georgia State.

Miami has yet to add a WR through the transfer portal this off-season. Davis visited Illinois over the weekend. Henderson did not enter the transfer portal until Saturday. Miami has had a lot of success signing transfers who originally left South Florida to play college football. That will likely remain a target for transfers to Miami.

Henderson would provide Miami with much-needed size on the outside. Frank Ladson, Isaiah Horton and Colbie Young are the only WRs on the Miami football roster as tall as Henderson at 6’3. Henderson has proven productivity and would compete immediately to start for Miami in 2023.
