Anytime a player transfers within Florida they will endear themselves to their new program and become hated at their old school. Former Miami quarterback Brock Berlin spent the 2000 and 2001 seasons at Florida. Berlin was on the Florida roster when they lost to Miami in the 2001 Sugar Bowl.

The hate for Berlin extended beyond Florida and his transfer to Miami. The Virginia Tech fan below also hated Berlin even though the Hokies defeated Miami in both games they played in his two years at QB. Miami QBs play a high-profile position and are susceptible to hate against every opponent.

Berlin transferred to Miami following the 2001 season. Per NCAA rules Berlin had to sit out the 2002 season. In his first game at the Orange Bowl playing for Miami, Berlin led the Hurricanes to the biggest comeback in program history. Miami rallied from a 33-10 deficit to earn a 38-33 win.

Berlin reportedly mocked Florida fans and Gators’ players during and after the game. Berlin scorched Florida completing 27 passes in 41 attempts for 340 yards, two TDs and two interceptions. Berlin added to his Miami legacy in 2004 rallying the Hurricanes from a 17-point deficit to beat Louisville 41-38.

Berlin appropriately finished his Miami career leading the Hurricanes to a 27-10 win over Florida in the 2004 Peach Bowl. Miami finished 9-3 and ranked 11th in both polls. Berlin was named the second-team All-ACC QB and finished runner-up in the ACC Player of the Year voting. Miami was 19-5 with Berlin as the starting QB.
