The Miami football program continued remaking its cornerback unit with the addition of 6’2, 198-pound Vanderbilt transfer Jadais Richard. Miami has added four transfer CBs since the end of the 2023 season. The Hurricanes previously added Davonte Brown, Jaden Davis and Terry Roberts as transfers for 2023.

Richard has three years of eligibility remaining after signing with Vanderbilt in the Class of 2022. In the 2022 247 Sports composite ratings Richard was the 368th prospect, 31st safety and 16th player in Louisiana. As a true freshman last season Richard had six tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack and two passes defended.

Richard received a 62.4 defensive grade and a 60.3 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus. Transferring to Miami allows Richard to work under defensive coordinator Lance Guidry who is also a Louisiana native. Miami had the 15th-ranked transfer class nationally per 247 Sports prior to adding Richard.

Richard is the third CB Miami has added to its roster for 2023 that are at least 6’0. Brothers Damari and Davonte Brown are both 6’1. Davonte Brown is a transfer from Central Florida and Damari was a 2023 signee. Returnees Chris Graves and Jaden Harris are the only other CBs on the Miami roster who are at least 6’0.

Miami has remade their CB unit since last season. Returning starter Te’Cory Couch is the only CB who played significant snaps for Miami in 2022. Brown and Davis provide the Miami football program with multi-year starters and needed experience at CB. Davis and Roberts have one season of eligibility remaining.
