Miami Hurricanes News: Bats at Pitt and football transfer visits
The Miami Hurricanes baseball team will play its final road series of the season at Pittsburgh this weekend. Following a big weekend hosting transfers, more are coming with visits this weekend, including high school prospects. David Lake of Inside the U examined which Miami players can become stars in 2023.
The Miami baseball team enters the weekend 32-16 overall and 14-10 in second place in the ACC Coastal Division. Duke is 33-14 overall and leads the Coastal at 14-9. Georgia Tech hosts Duke this weekend in a critical series. Miami travels to Pittsburgh. Miami hosts Duke in the final series of 2023 next weekend.
Marcus Benjamin of Canes County previewed the visit of four-star defensive end Dylan Stewart to the Miami Hurricanes football program this weekend. Stewart will officially visit South Carolina and Ohio State in June and previously took unofficial visits to Georgia and Penn State earlier this year.
Lake wrote “Star Potential: Nine Hurricanes with game changing ability in 2023.” The nine players Lake believes have star potential are Tyler Van Dyke, Colbie Young, the offensive line as a unit, Akheem Mesidor, Nyjalik Kelly, Leonard Taylor, Francisco Mauigoa, Kamren Kinchens and James Williams.
Miami is hosting 6’7 Louisiana-Monroe defensive lineman Anthony Campbell this weekend. Campbell primarily played defensive end at Louisiana-Monroe but is projected to be a tackle for Miami. The Hurricanes have previously added defensive tackles Branson Deen and Thomas Gore as transfers for 2023.
Jesse Simonton named Miami as having the best safety unit in college football entering the 2023 season. Miami returns starters Kamren Kinchens and James Williams in 2023. Markeith Williams is slated to back up Kinchens and James Williams. Miami could add a transfer safety to provide depth
