WR/PR. Chicago Bears. Devin Hester. 57. player. 57.

No. 5 Miami football NFL career in league history: Devin Hester

2006 NFL Draft: Round 2, Pick 57

Chicago Bears, 2006–2013
Atlanta Falcons, 2014–2015
Baltimore Ravens, 2016
Seattle Seahawks, 2016

Devin Hester was one of the singularly most dominant players in NFL history due entirely to what he was able to do in the special teams unit for the Chicago Bears and, to a lesser extent, the Atlanta Falcons — mainly leading the league in punt return yards and kick return yardage two different years each.

Hester was a nationally recognized long-jumper in high school who was always primed for big things, but even with the Riviera Beach product becoming “Hurricane Hester” at Miami for his return game theatrics, it wasn’t until he proved he can do it at the NFL level that he became a national name. Winning the Special Teams Player of the Year award certainly helped the world understand his greatness.

When it’s said and done, there may never be a player who is more feared in the return game than Hester.
