No. 14 Miami football NFL career in league history: Jeremy Shockey
2002 NFL Draft: Round 1, Pick 14
New York Giants, 2002–2007
New Orleans Saints, 2008–2010
Carolina Panthers, 2011
Jeremy Shockey, coincidentally, was the tight end ahead of Graham on the New Orleans Saints tight end room, holding up his ascension in a season that followed a Super Bowl win in the Big Easy. The 2009/10 Saints Super Bowl win was actually Shockey’s second in three years and with a second team, having been on the roster — though he was infamously injured for the playoff run — of the 2007/08 Super Bowl champion New York Giants.
Shockey helped Eli Manning along for Big Blue as one of his top weapons and even got to catch passes from Kurt Warner during the Super Bowl XXXIV MVP’s brief stint in the Big Apple. He then got to be one of Drew Brees’ weapons under Sean Payton’s tutelage.
The Ada, Oklahoma product got to play with greats, but so did those greats having had Shockey at the tight end spot.
