The 15 best Miami football NFL careers in Hurricanes history
No. 8 Miami football NFL career in league history: Andre Johnson
2003 NFL Draft: Round 1, Pick 3
Houston Texans, 2003–2014
Indianapolis Colts, 2015
Tennessee Titans, 2016
Andre Johnson’s career could’ve gone down as one of the greatest ever from the wide receiver position had he played with one of the all-time greats (Brady, Manning, Brees) instead of playing with David Carr and Matt Shaub — who were good, but not great, and likely held Johnson back from even bigger receiving numbers.
With that said Johnson was still a 2x receptions and receiving yards leader in Houston and made four All-Pro teams with two of those being First-Team honors. No one is questioning whether the Miami native was a standout of his time period.
Still, it’s hard not to wonder whether Johnson would’ve been higher had he made the jump from the Texans sooner, having only made the intra-AFC South jumps to the Colts and Titans during his final two professional campaigns.
