Four-star 2024 cornerback Dakoda Fields told Greg Biggins of 247 Sports he is planning on a return visit to the Miami football program after naming the Hurricanes in his top seven on Sunday. Oregon is the prohibitive favorite for a commitment from Fields. There are two 247 Sports Crystal balls logged in Oregon’s favor for Fields.

Biggins and Steve Wiltfong the Director of Football Recruiting for 247 Sports have each logged a crystal ball for Fields to Oregon. On3 gives Oregon a 95.3 percent chance for a commitment from Fields. The other five programs with Miami and Oregon named as finalists by Fields are Cal, Ohio State, Texas, USC and Washington.

Fields has official visits scheduled to USC the weekend on June 2, Miami on June 9 and Oregon on June 16. On3 lists that Fields has taken multiple visits to Oregon and USC and had one trip to UCLA. It does not list the Miami football program, but Fields told Biggins he visited the Hurricanes in January before most of the staff turnover.

The Miami football program lost defensive coordinator Kevin Steele to Alabama in February. Mario Cristobal hired Lance Guidry to replace Steele. Miami defensive backs coach Jahmile Addae returns for Miami to provide stability in the recruitment of Fields. Addae is the lead recruiter for Fields as told to Biggins on Sunday.

"Miami– “I visited Miami in January when I was in town for a 7v7 tournament and really liked the overall environment there. I didn’t get to see much of the campus though and the coaches I talked with are no longer there. Since then I’ve been able to reconnect with the staff and they really want me back on campus for an official visit.Jahmile Addae (DB coach) is my lead recruiter and the coach who offered me. We’re building a good relationship in a short time and I can’t wait to get back to Miami and really experience all that they have to offer. I love the tradition they have and I really like where coach Cristobal is taking the program.”"

The 247 Sports composite rankings list Fields as the 78th prospect nationally, 10th CB and ninth player in California out of Gardena Junipero Serra. At 6’1.5 and 177 pounds, Fields has excellent length but will likely need to develop his body more to be ready to compete in college. Fields is an exceptional athlete that also runs track.

Miami has remade its CB unit for 2023 with the additions of Davonte Brown, Davis, Jaidus Richard and Roberts to the roster.
