Kevin Beard has made an immediate impact with the Miami football program for wide receiver recruiting. Beard was the primary recruiter for 2024 four-star Miami commit Chance Robinson. Over the weekend Miami added WRs Tyler Harrell and Shemar Kirk as transfers to help improve the depth of the wideouts.

Robinson is the 150th-ranked player, 23rd WR and 24th prospect in Florida in the 2024 Class. Harrell is transferring from Alabama to Miami after beginning his collegiate career at Louisville. Kirk spent the last two seasons at Reedley College in California. Beard left Toledo as their WRs coach to return home to Miami.

Robinson was a huge commitment to the Miami football program. Miami has struggled recently to sign players from St. Thomas Aquinas. Adding Jason Taylor to the Miami staff should help the Hurricanes sign players from St. Thomas Aquinas. Taylor was previously the defensive coordinator for the Raiders.

Robinson had 29 receptions for 540 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior. Beard and Miami beat out Auburn, Florida State and Penn State for the Robinson commitment. Robinson is the only blue chip commit in the 2024 Miami class as a four-star prospect. Robinson has official visits scheduled for Auburn and Penn State in June.

Harrell brings needed speed to Miami. In 2021 for Louisville Harrell had a breakout season with 18 receptions for 523 yards, a massive 29.1 yards per reception and six touchdowns. Harrell struggled with injuries in his one season at Alabama. Expect Harrell to compete for first-team snaps with Miami in 2023.

Miami beat out Central Florida, Purdue, Washington State, some Group of Five programs and FCS Jackson State to sign Kirk. Kirk also brings speed to Miami. In two seasons at Reedley College, Kirk had 76 receptions for 1,446 yards and 15 TDs. Several other 2024 WRs are strongly considering Miami.

Next. Miami trending for 5-star WR Joshisa Trader. dark

Five-star 2024 prospects Joshisa “JoJo” Trader and Ryan Wingo are the WRs to watch for Miami. Trader has been trending to Miami and Wingo visited Coral Gables earlier this month. The additions of Harrell and Kirk make the 2023 Miami roster better. Robinson is a foundational player in the 2024 class because of Beard.
