Five-star 2024 defensive tackle Justin Scott and four-star prospects, safety Jaylen Heward and wide receiver Braylon Staley all tweeted on Thursday that they will take official visits with the Miami football team in June. Staley will visit Miami June 9-11, Scott June 16-18 and Heyward June 23-25.

Staley is the 226th prospect, 34th WR and fifth player in South Carolina out of Aiken in the 2024 Class. Staley is a duel sport athlete that runs track and was the South Carolina 4A Triple Jump champion as a Sophomore per his 247 Sports profile. Clemson and Tennessee will also receive official visits from Staley in June.

Scott would be a foundational player in the 2024 Miami class as the 13th-ranked prospect, third-best defensive lineman and the top player in Illinois. Steve Wiltfong the 247 Sports Director of Football Recruiting logged a crystal ball for Scott in favor of Miami in April. On3 lists Miami as the leader for Scott at 44.4 percent.

Miller will take official visits to Georgia and Michigan in June prior to Miami and Ohio State the weekend after he is in Coral Gables. Allan Trieu of 247 Sports stated that Scott has β€œHas prototypical size and athletic ability for the position.” Scott also plays on the offensive line for Chicago St. Ignatius.

Heyward is the 42nd-ranked prospect, third safety and eighth in Florida out of Rockledge. Heyward has been committed to Georgia since January. Georgia is the only other program currently scheduled for an official visit with Heyward per his On3 profile. Miami currently has commitments from two 2024 safeties.

Dylan Day from Southern Lab in Baton Rouge and Isaiah Thomas from Clearwater Academy International are three-star safeties in the 2024 Class committed to the Miami football program.Β  Day and Heyward do not have official visits scheduled according to their On3 profiles. Miami needs to add defensive back depth.

Even with Day and Thomas committed for 2024 Miami could have uncertainty at safety after the 2023 season. Returning starting safeties Kamren Kinchens and James Williams are projected as high first-round picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. Redshirt freshman Markeith Williams is the only other listed safety on the 2023 Miami roster.

Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U posted on Thursday an additional 11 prospects that tweeted out official visits to Miami in June.Β  Official visits in June were critical for the 2023 Miami class that is seventh in the 247 Sports composite rankings. Expect late June and early July to spur commitments in the 2024 Miami class.
